Party to celebrate Real Food Challenge May 25 in Miller Hall

Western Washington University President Bruce Shepard signed the Real Food Challenge, brought forward by Students for Sustainable Foods at Western, back on April 1.

Today, May 25, the community is invited to celebrate the university's commitment to food from local, community-based farms at a party to be held from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Miller Hall Collaborative Space.

Local and organic appetizers will be provided by University Dining Services. Mary Loquvam of York Farm in Bellingham and Sara Southerland, food and farming manager at Sustainable Connections in Bellingham, will speak.

The program includes the presentation of the signed documents.
