Panel discussion on Canvas to take place Jan. 17

Western Today staff

The Western Washington University campus is invited to a discussion of the Canvas pilot, hosted by the Learning Technology Group this Thursday, Jan. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. in Viking Union Room 567.

Canvas is being considered as a replacement to Blackboard. During the fall term, 23 faculty members teaching 32 courses piloted the product. Thursday's discussion will include two panelists who were involved in the pilot, Kathleen Saunders and Daniel Purdy.

After the panel discussion will be an introduction to Canvas given by Peter Agras. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to come with questions about the product and the pilot.

More information about Canvas and the pilot can be found at http://wwu.edu/atus/canvas.
