Pam Kuntz to present 'Shimmer' dance piece downtown

Kuntz and Company and The Whatcom Museum present "Shimmer," a dance piece inspired by the current Lesley Dill exhibit, at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 and 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Lightcatcher Building.

The piece was created by Pam Kuntz, a senior instructor in the Western Washington University Dance Program, and performers Annie Hewlett, Harrison Holtzman-Knott, Angela Kiser, Ella Mahler, Debby Meyers, Lucy Morse, Lo Nathamundi, Kate Stevenson, Nicole Styles (with eight month old daughter Veda), Joan Suhl, Sarah Eden Wallace, Christina Wienhold, Zach Wymore and Chelsea Jade Zibolsky.

"Shimmer" is a movement response to Lesley Dill’s work. Frequent Kuntz & Company collaborator Spencer Thun provides an original sound score.

Tickets available at the door one hour before the performances begin. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students/military, $4.50 for children 5 and younger and free for museum members. Seating for this event is limited.

Dill is a nationally known New York-based artist and her work has been on display in the Whatcom Museum since October. She has been recognized for the unique ways her work combines art and language.
