Outreach and Continuing Education Launches Redesigned Websites

  • Invent. Launch. Grow. Lead

Western Washington University’s Outreach and Continuing Education (OCE) will be launching a new home site ( and a redesigned Professional and Continuing Education site ( on February 8.

The new OCE site provides updates on the latest news and events, identifies the various work in which the team are engaged, and highlights the role of OCE in serving Western’s mission. Areas of potential collaboration and support are also outlined.

The Professional and Continuing Education website has been redesigned to better support the needs of students seeking a professional credential. A number of helpful features, including a student support center that includes a description of available class formats, and a guide to program selection and financial aid have been added. The site also includes a list of upcoming events, like info sessions.

The Program and Courses page also groups courses by areas of study, so prospective students can quickly and easily identify offerings that match their goals.

“Differentiating between a professional audience seeking to upskill or find a new career path and providing information to the Western community and our partners was key in the development of the new OCE site, and redesign of the PCE site,” noted Robert Squires, vice provost of Outreach and Continuing Education. “We want faculty, staff, and administrators to find the information on OCE that they need, and we want prospective students to find the course or program that fits their interests. The separation of the sites will allow us to serve these differing audiences more effectively.”

OCE supports various programs, including:

  • Summer Session

  • WesternOnline

  • Testing Services
