Outdoor speakers to be tested during the day Nov. 10

Facilities Development is working with Environmental Health and Safety at Western Washington University to perform a sound study to record and measure audibility and intelligibility of the university's outdoor speakers for emergency notification.

These tests will occur Tuesday, Nov. 10, and will involve the outdoor speakers at Old Main, Communications Facility and Campus Services. Old Main and CF testing will occur between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.; CS testing will occur throughout the day and will likely be heard at Harrington Field. Those in the vicinity of the tests may hear the standard voice emergency testing message multiple times as the consultants set up equipment, record and then set up in new locations.
