Oslapas to discuss ReMade project, mind mapping at Tuesday presentation

Arunas Oslapas, a professor of industrial design at Western Washington University, will talk about the WWU ReMade Project, sustainable design, mind mapping, his artwork and more from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Wilson Library Room 265.

In addition to teaching at Western, Oslapas is also an artist, craftsperson and successful entrepreneur, creating functional artworks from discarded metal strapping and other found materials.

These Tuesday noon "Lunch & Learn" sustainability conversations are part of Western Sustainability's winter 2013 "Sweater Days" energy awareness and action campaign. All members of the Western community and the public are welcome.

ReMade is an annual design challenge assigned to the junior class of Industrial Design students at WWU by Oslapas. The project combines sustainability and entrepreneurship, asking students to transform materials which would otherwise be discarded into functional, well-designed products.
