Nominations open for outstanding faculty

Although all Western Washington University faculty members are committed to outstanding teaching, scholarship, leadership and community service, periodically the Western community has the opportunity to recognize some of the university's exceptional faculty members.

The following annual awards are examples of the university community’s efforts to recognize and show appreciation to faculty members and others for their service and outstanding achievements. Provost Catherine Riordan encourages nominations for these awards, each of which includes either a check or a Western Foundation fund.

Nominations are due for the following four awards by Feb. 17:

  • Peter J. Elich Excellence in Teaching Award
  • Excellence in Teaching Award
  • Paul J. Olscamp Research Award
  • Outstanding Scholarship Award

Nominations are due for the following two awards by April 16:

  • The Outstanding Faculty Leadership Award
  • The Carl H. Simpson Bridging Award
