Nominations needed by July 1 for PSO excellence award

Nominations are being accepted for the 2016 Professional Staff Organization’s Award for Excellence, which honors one Western Washington University professional staff annually for demonstrating one or more of the following attributes:

  • Exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in the performance of her/his job duties to the benefit of faculty, staff and students.
  • Exceptional level of integrity, professionalism and job performance that inspires excellence in others and contributes to Western's mission and values.
  • Exhibits and encourages excellence in initiative, creativity and willingness to explore new ideas through work and interaction with others.

The award will be presented at fall convocation by President Sabah Randhawa, and the recipient’s name is added to the PSO Employee Excellence Award plaque located in Wilson Library. Last year’s recipient was Casey Hayden, coordinator of student activities at Viking Union.

Nominations are easy and can be made online. Any university faculty or staff member may nominate a PSO member. All nominations must be submitted by noon, July 1and will be reviewed and selected by the PSO Award Committee.
