Nominations for International Education Award due Nov. 5

In conjunction with International Education Week, which begins Nov. 15, th annual International Education Award will be given to recognize the outstanding effort of a member of the Western Washington University community in expanding global awareness and international understanding on the campus and in the surrounding communities.

Every year since the award was established in fall 2008, a faculty member, staff member or student is recognized during fall quarter for outstanding innovations in curriculum development, the operation of study abroad activities and the provision of services to international students and scholars, as selected by a peer review committee.

To nominate someone for the award, submit a brief letter of recommendation describing the nominee's accomplishments to The Center for International Studies, MS 9050, or electronically to cis@wwu.edu. Include the nominee's university contact information. The deadline is Friday, Nov. 5.

The winner will be honored at the Global Distinguished Scholar fall meet and greet at noon on Thursday, Nov. 18, in College Hall Room 131.
