Nominations for Outstanding Classified Staff Award close July 5

Nominations are being accepted for the Outstanding Classified Staff Award at Western Washington University through July 5. 

With the support of the President, the two classified staff unions on campus (Washington Federation of State Employees and Public School Employees) together select one of their members to receive this award, which is presented each year at fall opening convocation.

Criteria: To be considered, the individual must demonstrate contribution to the work unit, department, college or university that furthers the university’s mission and strategic goals through any one or more of the following ways:

  1. Excellence in job performance resulting in effectiveness, innovation, diversity and/or sustainability
  2. Personal initiative and leadership that supports and builds a positive work environment
  3. Innovative approach to problem solving
  4. Outstanding service, commitment,  scholarly or creative work that contributes to Western’s community

Nomination Process:  All nominations must be submitted via the online form by 5:00 PM, Friday, July 5th, 2019.   Nominations may be made by any university faculty member or staff member. Nominees must be a permanent classified staff member who has completed one year of service by July 5, 2019.
