Next Wizards @ Western, 'Green Chemistry,' set for March 10

Western Washington University’s College of Science and Engineering will continue its Wizards @ Western youth lecture series with “Green Chemistry” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, in Science Lecture 150 on WWU’s campus.

How do fuel cells and electric cars operate? How can industrial reactions be designed to use less energy and more environmentally friendly materials? Chemistry faculty members Steven Emory and Elizabeth Raymond will explore these questions using a series of dramatic chemical demonstrations combined with scientific explanations designed for children in grades 4-8. The faculty members will be assisted by members of WWU's student chapter of the American Chemical Society.
