Next RSP workshop to focus on budget justifications and broader impacts

The winter quarter workshop series from Research and Sponsored Programs concludes Feb. 3 with topics related to budget justifications and broader impact statements.

From noon to 1 p.m. in Viking Union Room 462, Tracey Finch will cover the basics of writing effective budget justifications. Additionally, Vice Provost Kathleen Kitto will be joined by Emily Borda, associate professor in the Chemistry Department, to discuss broader impact statements for National Science Foundation proposals.

Attendees interested in learning more about the meaning of broader impact may wish to review https://www.nsf.gov/od/oia/special/broaderimpacts/.

These sessions, part of a new series from RSP, are intended to be interactive and are meant to build a community for those involved in writing proposals.

Workshops will continue spring quarter; they'll be offered from noon to 1 p.m. on Mondays starting on April 4 in Miller Hall 258. More details will be posted soon.

Graduate students and new faculty are encouraged to attend. To reserve a spot in the final winter quarter workshop or to be added to the email list for workshop information, please contact the RSP program voordinator, Coco Besson, at coco.besson@wwu.edu.
