New candidate identified for CHSS dean position

Several of the candidates in the search for a new dean for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Western Washington University have chosen to withdraw from further consideration.

Fortunately, the search committee has identified an additional well-qualified candidate for the position, Brent Mallinckrodt, who will be interviewing on campus early spring quarter.

Mallinckrodt, the associate dean for Graduate Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at the The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will visit Western's Bellingham campus April 4 and 5. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. April 4 in Miller Hall Room 152.

Evaluation forms for Mallinckrodt are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 5. This is an important leadership position, and comments by interview participants are valued and much appreciated. Application materials and evaluation forms are available by contacting Bev Jones in the Provost’s Office at bev.jones@wwu.edu.
