Multicultural Center Construction Update: Feb. 7

The Multicultural Center renovation project remains on schedule with June as the targeted completion date. The contractor is installing windows which will seal the building. The building can then be heated and will allow the contractor to  perform additional interior work. Over the next couple of weeks the exterior siding will be installed and give the facility the appearance of a finished product. But there’s still much to be done!

Interior work during the next few weeks includes:

• Installation of stairs leading down from the 6th floor to the 5th floor lobby
• Light demolition on the 7th floor at the west side of KUGS where the old restroom was located.  Contactors will mitigate the spread of dust and debris.
• Continuation of framing and installation of drywall and insulation. Installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems on the 7th floor.

Please continue to be cautious around the project site and use crosswalks and sidewalks as directed by the construction signs. Thank you.
