Longtime KGMI broadcaster to speak at Oct. 14 WWURA luncheon

John Munroe, long-time broadcaster at Bellingham radio station KGMI, will talk about his experiences in radio at the Western Washington University Retirement Association’s fall luncheon, set for 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Northwood Hall in Bellingham.

In years gone by, Munroe would reminisce on air about Bellingham’s history and announce the morning news. His lively style and memory of good stories made him a popular broadcaster. At the luncheon, he will recall the “good old days” of local radio.

The cost for attending the event is $15 WWURA members and $18 for guests. Send check with reservation by Tuesday, Oct. 11, to Janet Berg, 1029 16th St., Bellingham 98225. Berg can be reached at (360) 733-4654. Northwood Hall is located at 3240 Northwest Ave.
