Library staffer to discuss being vegan in Bellingham at Village Books event

The Western Washington University Libraries, in partnership with Village Books, is kicking off this year's WWU Connections series with a talk by Western Libraries' own Clarissa Mansfield.

Mansfield, author of the local blog "Vegan in Bellingham," will speak from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Village Books in Fairhaven. In her presentation, she'll share her passion for delicious food, debunk myths about veganism and offer thoughts on both cooking and eating out. If you think veganism is all about deprivation and boring, bland food, think again! If you have ever wondered what is appealing about eating vegan, or if you have ever been curious about finding tasty ways to introduce more plant-based foods into your regular diet, this event is for you.

Mansfield is a full-time staff member of the Western Libraries. In her free time, she enjoys taking pictures, writing about food, cooking, creating eco-friendly vegan products, walking on the local trails and being a vegan in Bellingham.
