Library dean candidates to visit campus this month

Four strongly qualified Dean of Libraries candidates have been invited to the Western Washington University campus for interviews beginning Jan. 10, WWU Provost Catherine Riordan announced this week.

Information about the finalists is listed below, along with the schedule for the forums open to the campus community. The finalists’ curriculum vitae are available for review; please contact Bev Jones in the Provost’s Office.

This is an important university-wide leadership position, and Provost Riordan encourages active participation by the campus community.

Jan. 10 and 11:

Mark Greenberg is the director of Special and Digital Collections at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla.

A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in the Library Presentation Room.

Jan. 29 and 30:

Irene Herold is the dean of Mason Library at Keene State College in Keene, N.H.

A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, in the Library Presentation Room.

Jan. 31 and Feb. 1:

Scott Muir is the library director, at the downtown Phoenix campus of Arizona State University in Phoenix, Ariz. He's also interim library director at the school's polytechnic campus in Mesa.
