Libraries update: Departmental Delivery Resumes; Sunday Hours, Study Spaces, and Online Options

Western Libraries has resumed Departmental Delivery Services and expanded its Haggard and Wilson building hours to include Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. As conditions improve and once staffing levels become more stable, library hours will expand again.*

For students who are looking for on-campus study spaces when the library buildings are closed, there is a 24-hour computer lab in Haggard 233, in addition to other study areas (in Haggard Hall on the 2nd and 3rd floors) that are also open 24/7.

Both the Hacherl Research & Writing Studio and the Tutoring Center are open for in-person services during the day and have online evening hours as well. For students searching for a study buddy or who just want to work online in the proximity of others, they can try out the newVirtual Study Together Hour,  a Zoom room hosted every weekday from 1-2 p.m. where students can hang out, study, chat, or ask questions.  There are also different options for breakout rooms and students can select what level of interaction best fits their needs.

If you have any questions or would like additional information about library hours and services, study spaces, and the virtual study together program, please contact LibraryCommunications@wwu.edu.

*Current library hours are a result of continued impacts to permanent and student staffing caused by the pandemic and the Libraries’ goal of providing as much continuity of services and library access as possible, even when employees are suddenly unable to work because they are ill, quarantining, or caring for sick family members.
