October 11 is National Coming Out Day, and LGBTQ+ Western is excited to share a new way of communicating with the Western community. Starting today, anyone can sign up on the LGBTQ+ Western website at https://lgbtq.wwu.edu to receive email notification when new information is added to the site. The website provides information about learning opportunities and written resources for the Western community, upcoming events, and on and off-campus resources for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff. Recent updates to the website include:
Actions to Foster Inclusive Learning Environments for LGBTQ+ Students, a resource for faculty.
Information about scholarships available through the Pride Foundation.
A Queer Connections Support Group being offered for students this Fall through the Counseling Center.
LGBTQ+ Western works to advance the holistic thriving of diverse LGBTQ+ students, faculty and staff at Western Washington University by collaboratively engaging the university community with transformational knowledge, resources, advocacy and celebration. You can reach the LGBTQ+ Director, L.K. Langley, at (360) 650-7500 or L.K.Langley@wwu.edu. Langley’s Fall quarter office hours are posted on the website.
