Learning Technology Group to discuss the use of 'Smartboards' in teaching March 31

The Learning Technology Group at Western Washington University will be discussing the use of Smartboard technology this week. Smartboards, or, more generically, Interactive Whiteboards, are touch-sensitive displays used for presenting information as well as interacting with it.

John Farquhar will present on the main features of the technology; his talk will be followed by a faculty discussion on uses and by a bit of hands-on practice.

The meeting takes place from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in Haggard Hall Room 122. Space is limited, so if you're planning to attend, you must register in advance.

The Learning Technology Group at Western is an effort by Academic Technology and User Services, working with the Center for Instructional Innovation and Assessment to engage faculty in implementing and evaluating new technologies for teaching.
