Law enforcement to train in Interdisciplinary Sciences building Sunday evening

A joint training of multiple county agencies and their SWAT teams, including University Police, will occur in Western’s Interdisciplinary Sciences building Sunday, Feb. 27, from 5-10 p.m.

The training helps local law enforcement agencies with overall readiness and familiarizes them with Western buildings in case they ever need to respond to an incident on campus. SWAT members will train on checking rooms and clearing the building.

The Interdisciplinary Sciences building is not yet open to the public, but signs will be placed at entrances with information about the training and a University Police officer will confirm no one is inside before the training begins.
