Kathy Louzao retires after more than 20 years at WWU

Kathy Louzao, administrative assistant to the Dean of Students, retired effective July 7 after more than 20 years of service to the Western community.

Kathy started as a temporary employee in the Equal Opportunity Office, and became a permanent employee in the Viking Union as the Information Desk Coordinator in 1999. Kathy showed such potential that she was made temporary Secretary Lead the very next day! Kathy continued to serve in an administrative support capacity for many years until she was promoted to administrative assistant to the Dean of Students Ted Pratt.

In each of these capacities, Kathy provided a warm, caring, professional atmosphere where she supported her coworkers and students. Western and the Viking Union were lucky to have Kathy as part of the team for so long. Kathy is staying in Bellingham and is looking forward to more time with her family and traveling in the future.

Cindy Monger is collecting any email greetings you may want to send to Kathy and will forward to her personal email on July 31. Please feel free to email mongerc@wwu.edu.
