Journalism’s Jennifer Keller Selected as a Participant in the 2017 Scripps Howard Academic Leadership Academy

Western Washington University Associate Professor of Journalism Jennifer Keller has been selected to be a participant in the 2017 Scripps Howard Academic Leadership Academy (SHALA) three day retreat June 11-14.

In partnership with the Scripps Howard Foundation, the Manship School of Mass Communication annually hosts SHALA for academics and professionals from various backgrounds. The Academy selects 12-15 participants.

This program is designed for new chairs, deans and directors, faculty and professionals interested in education leadership.

“I am honored to be among the leaders chosen to participate in the Scripps Howard Academic Leadership Academy this year,” Keller said. “I am excited to work with others who are committed to excellence in journalism education, which is more important than ever.”

By bringing together professionals and scholars with experienced administrators, the programs goal is to give participants the unique opportunity to learn about the challenges and rewards of directing an academic program.
