Join the Sustainability Office's "Lunch & Learn Conversations" starting April 22

 

Western Sustainability “Lunch & Learn Conversations”,  hosted by  the WWU Office of Sustainability and co-sponsored by TLA, invite you to join the conversation!

Wilson 265, Mondays,  1-2 p.m.,  April 8 - May 20.

All members of the Western community and the public are welcome.

On Monday, April 22, meet and talk with Ian Collicott,  WWU  Sociology Student and  Western Sustainability student staff.

Topic:  WWU sustainability Assessment; A Western Sustainability Graduation Pledge;  Sustainability and Sociology. 

Ian Collicott is a Junior at WWU studying Sociology and Environmental Studies, and has been an active researcher in the Office of Sustainability since the fall of 2010.

Upon entry to the OS Ian began to tackle AASHE's (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education) STARS report, an extensive measurement and communication system that tracks and gauges campus sustainability in many areas.

Ian's work has allowed him to collaborate not only  across the Western campus but also with other universities across the nation.

His recent work: creating a sustainability pledge for WWU graduates, issuing a sustainability literacy assessment for all incoming freshman and staff, improving campus printing, and designating no-idling zones on campus grounds.

Casual seating, mugs and hot water for tea are provided, bring your lunch if you like.
