Issues encountered in Western Alert test

On Friday, April 26, officials at Western Washington University conducted a test of the Western Alert system.

A problem was encountered with the building enunciation system so that only the lights flashed in most areas with no voice actuation. The cause has been identified, and the problem is being remedied.

A second issue, that some text messages sent were not received, is being worked on as well. All other components of Western Alert, including Big Ole, e-mail, Western homepage, Western emergency webpage, and social media feeds, worked well.
