International Pronouns Day Celebration set for this Wednesday

Students, staff, and faculty are invited to celebrate the second annual International Pronouns Day this Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 4-6 p.m. with LGBTQ+ Western, the Queer Resource Center, Womxn’s Identity Resource Center, T.A.G. Team, the Sustainability Representatives, and the Club Activities Office. Join us in VU 565 for a celebration of gender diversity in our community. We’ll have resources, crafts, games, and the opportunity to participate in creating a video that will share perspectives on why respecting pronouns is meaningful and basic to treating people with dignity and respect.

Interested in learning more about why being intentional about respecting people’s pronouns is important, and how you can take action?  Visit LGBTQ+ Western’s web page Understanding and Respecting Personal Pronouns, download the handout “Taking Action to Respect Personal Pronouns,” and discuss what you learn with your department, class, club, team, or social group.

LGBTQ+ Western works to advance the holistic thriving of diverse LGBTQ+ students, faculty and staff at Western Washington University by collaboratively engaging the university community with transformational knowledge, resources, advocacy and celebration.
