Jim Johnson, age 75, passed away suddenly at home in Bellingham on Feb. 14.
He was born June 24, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky to James L. and Georgia Johnson. Jim earned his BA from the University of Louisville, and his MA and PhD from the University of Minnesota.
He married Shelley Hoeck on July 6, 1997 and together they raised their two children, Jessica and Jimmy. Jim was a professor in the WWU Computer Science department for over 35 years. He loved university life and he passed on his passion for learning to his two children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Shelley, children Jessica and Jimmy, sisters Jill, Shirley and Midge, brother Robert, and many loving relatives and friends.
