In fall, permits will be required for parking at Lincoln Creek

Western Today staff

Starting this fall, a permit will be required to park in Western Washington University's Lincoln Creek Transportation Center. The permit will be free for the 2015-16 school year as the lot transitions to a permit system. Starting with the 2016-17 school year, the lot may have a minimal fee.

The transition to a permit system will allow for utilization tracking of the lot and provide a means to communicate with lot users. In addition, charging fees for the lot will assist in offsetting its maintenance costs and allow for future upgrades.

Permits will be available online or in the Parking Services office starting in mid-September. Signs will be posted at the lot through fall quarter regarding the change to the permit system; the signs will have QR codes that will allow smartphone users to go quickly and easily to the Parking Services website to apply for a permit.

For more information, contact Parking Services at 360-650-2945.
