IES to host David Allen from 4-5 p.m. today in CF 115
Today's Institute for Energy Studies speaker is David Allen:
On Thursday February 8th David Allen was invited by Senator Lisa Murkowski, Chair of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources to testify as a witness at that committees hearing “to examine the evolution of energy infrastructure in the US and how lessons learned from the past can inform future opportunities”.
In his testimony, Mr. Allen broadly represented the energy efficiency and conservation sectors highlighting the vast resource opportunities they represent as we move forward in the energy transition. Other witness testimony included representatives from the Oil and Gas Industries, Large Public Utilities, Edison Electric Institute and Itron (energy and water management).
While a broad range of issues arose during this lengthy session, valuable insights were gained relevant to WWU’s Energy Studies Program and the energy transition movement in general. In this session David will share his perspectives on is trip and discuss challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.
