Huxley student researchers to present their work at WWU conference April 9

A group of graduate students at Huxley College of the Environment plan to hold a research conference April 9 to forge connections among Western researchers and in the broader community. From noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9, the students -- members of the Graduate Research Working Group -- will use oral and poster presentations to discuss and promote their research.

Among the many topics to be covered at the conference are the impacts of climate change on an alpine/arctic plant and the effect of ocean acidification on larval crabs.

This conference, which will take place in Academic Instructional Center West rooms 210 and 400, is free and open to the public. Students from all disciplines are welcome to attend, as are faculty, staff and members of the community.

The Graduate Research Working Group is a student-driven collaborative support network that provides a platform to develop and enhance research skills and scientific communication.
