Housing fair April 7 will showcase renters' options

Moving off campus can be one of the most frustrating and stressful experiences a college student can face. In order to make the transition easier, many of Bellingham’s property management companies and individual landlords will offer information about their available properties and rental procedures at the housing fair on Thursday, April 7, in the Viking Union Multipurpose room.

The housing fair is free to attend and will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Associated Students Resource and Outreach Programs Legal Information Center, Campus Community Coalition, Viking Community Builders, some Bellingham neighborhood associations, Prevention and Wellness, Dining Services, Sustainable Transportation, Bellingham Police and Fire Departments, Bellingham Visitors Bureau, University Residences and the Health Department.

The fair will also aim to offer information about neighborhood associations and volunteer opportunities in neighborhoods, promote positive behaviors off campus and raise awareness of housing health and safety issues as well as landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities.
