Holly Hill Hired as a Director at WWU Outreach and Continuing Education on the Peninsulas

Holly Hill has been hired as director of Puget Sound West for Outreach and Continuing Education at Western Washington University, and will start Aug. 1.

“The addition of Holly Hill represents another step in the expansion of Western Washington University’s presence on the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas,” said Earl Gibbons, vice provost for Western’s Outreach and Continuing Education, which formerly was known as WWU Extended Education.

“Western’s goal is to tailor its program offerings to meet the needs of the communities it serves. Holly brings significant depth of experience in working with businesses and other institutions seeking to further the professional development of their employees and strengthen their organizations. Holly’s primary task will be to get to know her constituents, to understand their needs, and to help them craft customized solutions,” Gibbons said.

Hill has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma and a master’s degree in International Affairs from Florida State University in Tallahassee.

Prior experience includes as: corporate education manager at Oregon State University where she worked with companies to help craft education and training solutions for their employees, including both professional development courses through Professional and Continuing Education, and degree completion programs through Ecampus, and assistant director, Employer Relations and Student Engagement in the Career Success Center, College of Business, also at Oregon State University. In addition, she also served as program director of Asset-Building Programs and Partner Development at Goodwill Industries of San Antonio, Texas, and as director of Education Abroad Services at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

"I am excited to be joining Outreach and Continuing Education and working with the team on the peninsulas to help increase Western's presence,” Hill said. “I'm looking forward to expanding upon the great foundation that has been created  to further Western’s impact in the region, and I can't wait to tackle the challenge through increased partnerships with Olympic College, Peninsula College, local community partnerships and more.”
