Greenwood/Asher & Associates to advise presidential search

By the authority delegated to Presidential Search Chair Trustee Sue Sharpe, the Western Washington University Board of Trustees has selected Greenwood/Asher & Associates, a leading national search firm specializing in higher education, to assist and advise Western’s presidential search.

Headquartered in Florida with offices in San Diego and Washington, D.C., Greenwood/Asher has identified and placed some of the most respected and successful college and university presidents in the country, and facilitated the search that brought Bruce Shepard to the presidency of Western in 2008.

Greenwood/Asher is a women-owned firm with extensive experience in executive search, consulting and training for university systems and campuses, nonprofits, and associations.  They have earned a reputation for successfully recruiting and placing candidates from underrepresented backgrounds in key leadership positions, with their clients appointing a woman or person of color in approximately 55% of searches.

Greenwood/Asher was selected from among 14 nationally respected search firms applying to the WWU Trustees’ request for proposals in July.  The Trustees consulted with faculty and staff leadership on the screening and review of proposals, and invited them to participate in interviews of finalist search firm candidates.

President and Partner Jan Greenwood is the lead representative for the search. Find them online at www.greenwoodsearch.com.
