Grants available for international faculty development seminars this summer

Western Washington University is a member of the CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) academic consortium and there is up to $2000 in a WWU CIEE Consortium Grant to attend the International Faculty Development Seminars this summer.  The seminars provide faculty and administrators with innovative approaches to enhance syllabi, internationalize curricula and increase global understanding on campus.  The Summer 2015 International Faculty Development Seminars are offered in the disciplines of Arts & Humanities, Business, Environment, intercultural Learning, International Relations, Public Health and Social Sciences.   The seminars will be held in various countries - Peru, South Africa, Thailand & Laos, China, Senegal, Spain, Brazil, Jordan & Turkey, Ireland, Belgium & Netherlands, Germany & Poland, and Russia.

Seminar applicants must be first-time IFDS participants.  To apply, applicants complete the CIEE online application where more detailed information about the application process, eligibility, and pre-departure logistics may be found.

Applicants must also submit the following additional information to Liz Partolan-Fray, Director, International Programs & Exchanges:  (1) a Summary Description of how the information gained will apply to a WWU course(s) and how participation will further the goal on internationalizing the curriculum at WWU and (2) an estimated budget and any other funding sources.   The application deadline to CIEE and to International Programs & Exchanges is March 11, 2015 for the Summer 2015 IFDS.
