Go back to your childhood with Western’s Children’s & Young Adult Book Sale in early December

The power of a book can last a lifetime. Whether it’s a story of adventure or one of loss, the books that we read have definite impacts on our growth.

Soon, this power will be available for Western’s community to experience themselves and share with others.

Teachers, community members and readers of all ages are invited to discover and enjoy award-winning titles at Western’s annual Children’s and Young Adult Book Sale this week. The sale will feature over a thousand new children’s and young adult books from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 on the sixth floor of Western’s Wilson Library.

Paperbacks will be sold for $2, while hardbacks for $5.

Proceeds will support student scholarships to Western’s 14th Annual Children’s Literature Conference, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at Western’s Performing Arts Center.

Four award-winning children’s and young adult book authors and illustrators will give presentations and answer questions. Presenters for the 2017 conference include Laurie Halse Anderson, Matt Phelan, Christian Robinson and Rita Williams-Garcia.
