Flags to be lowered Feb. 9 in honor of Vancouver Air Force captain

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has directed that, in honor of U.S. Air Force Captain Christopher Stover, 28, of Vancouver, Wash., Washington state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Sunday, Feb. 9. Stover died Jan. 7 during a training flight along the English coast.

Flags may be lowered at the close of business on Friday, Feb. 6, and should remain at half-staff until close of business on Feb. 9 or first thing Monday morning, Feb. 10.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in east Vancouver.
