Flags to be lowered Dec. 7 on campus for Pearl Harbor Day

Gov. Jay Inslee has directed that Washington state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, Dec. 7, for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day was created by Congress in 1994 in honor of those Americans killed or injured as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.

Flags may be lowered to half-staff at close of business on Friday, Dec. 6, and should remain at half-staff until close of business Saturday or first thing Monday morning, Dec. 9.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
