Flags to be lowered Aug. 11 in memory of State Patrol detective

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee , in memory of Washington State Patrol Detective Brent Hanger, 47, of Mount Vernon, has directed that Washington state and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015.  Detective Hanger died on Aug. 6 after suffering a medical condition while on assignment.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on Aug. 11 or first thing Wednesday morning, Aug. 12.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Skagit Valley College, 2405 East College Way, Mount Vernon.
