Fall quarter classes to start Sept. 24

The first day of 2015 fall quarter classes will be rolled back one day and is now Thursday, Sept. 24.

The reason for the adjustment is due to a conflict with Yom Kippur, Sept. 23, a significant religious observance. This adjustment also adheres to new guidelines in administering the academic calendar.

Registrar David Brunnemer made the decision after discussion with the Faculty Senate, which supported the proposal. Brunnemer also decided that the university will be open the Wednesday before the Thanksgiving Holiday this fall, but that no classes will be held on that day.
