Fall hours, reopening plan announced for Western Libraries

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 16, Western Libraries will reopen its Wilson and Haggard buildings to the public. Please note that both the Wilson and Haggard sides of the library will only be accessible via the Haggard Hall library entrances, and the north doors at the Wilson entrance will remain closed for the time being.

In keeping with Western Washington University’s health and safety requirements, all individuals must be masked at all times when indoors. This includes when inside library facilities, other indoor public spaces on Western's campus, and WWU transportation.

Library hours for fall quarter have been reduced from pre-pandemic hours as Western transitions back to having a fully reopened campus. Western Libraries plans to expand its hours if feasible during future quarters. For fall quarter, the library hours are as follows:

  • Sundays from noon to 9 p.m.
  • Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays closed

At this time, hours for specific programs or services housed in the library are not yet confirmed. Additional details about specific programs or special hours will be provided in future updates and will be shared via the Libraries’ website, Library News, social media, and Western Today.
