Fairhaven to celebrate 50th Anniversary this weekend with Arts and Music Festival
Western's groundbreaking Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies will hold a 50th Anniversary Arts and Music Festival this weekend, with events ranging from mentorship panel discussions to poetry readings, arboretum run/walks, an anniversary dinner, music, and more. The full weekend schedule includes:
Friday, Oct. 6
Noon - 1 p.m.: Community Lunch (provided)
1:30 – 3 p.m.: Panel discussion: critical social justice conversations in higher education
3-4 p.m.: Mentorship – concurrent breakout sessions for alumni and current students

- Federal/research careers
- Entrepreneurship
- Legal careers
4:15-5 p.m.: Carol V. Davis Poetry Reading (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/carol-v-davis)
5-6 p.m.: Happy hour (Auditorium)
8-11 p.m: Undisco in the Fairhaven Auditorium
Saturday, Oct. 7
9:30-11 a.m.: Run/walk event, Sehome Arboretum
11 am- 6 p.m.: Fairhaven College Music and Arts Festival, Fairhaven Courtyard and Outback Farm
6 - 7 p.m.: Happy hour, first floor of Fairhaven building
7 - 9 p.m.: Anniversary Dinner and Celebration of Faculty Greats
9 – 11 p.m.: Music in the Fairhaven Auditorium (Bring an instrument!)
Sunday, Oct. 8
8-10:00 a.m.: Breakfast (on you own with old friends)
10 a.m.-noon: Alumni organized event TBD (a baseball game is currently leading the popularity poll)
12:30- 4:30 p.m.: Optional Seahawks game-day party in the auditorium
