Faculty needed to advise students on GURs

Western Washington University faculty teaching GURs, especially at the 100-level, are invited to come to the "Viking Landing: Making the Most of Your GURs" event May 9 for an informal dialog with students who are working on choosing their GURs for fall quarter and beyond.

The event is designed to help students after the initial orientation – after they have “landed” – to get advice from staff in the Academic Advising Center and from faculty teaching GURs on how to choose GURs that are best for them.

The event is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday May, 9, in the Library’s Learning Commons, right next to the Tutoring Center.

Faculty members may sign up online for an hour time slot by GUR category. Faculty are still needed for the following GUR categories and time slots:

  • 1 to 2 p.m. - Natural Sci., & QSR
  • 2 to 3 p.m. - Comm & Soc Sci
  • 3 to 4 p.m. - CGM, QSR, & SS
