Faculty needed for Nov. 5 Viking Landing event

Western Washington University faculty members are needed for the Nov. 5 Viking Landing: Making the Most of Your GURs event.

Faculty can help in two ways:

  • First, faculty can inform their students of the event, at which students will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisers, GUR faculty and upper-class students to gain strategies about how to choose their GURs. Students are welcome to drop in any time between 3 and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the Library’s Learning Commons in Wilson Library 283 (next to the Tutoring Center).
  • Second, if you’re a faculty member who has taught or will teach a GUR course, please consider participating in this informational dialogue in an effort to help students approach the GURs not simply as courses to check off, but as opportunities. Contact shevell.thibou@wwu.edu if you’re interested in participating on the day of the event.

This event is co-sponsored by the Committee on Undergraduate Education, the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, Academic Advising, and the Learning Commons.
