Faculty help needed for Viking landing event Nov. 6

The help of Western Washington University faculty is needed for the upcoming Viking Landing: making the most of your GURs event Nov. 6.

Faculty can help in two ways:

First, faculty should let students know of the event, at which students will have an opportunity to meet with academic advisers, GUR faculty and upper-class students to gain advice on how to choose their GURs. This quarterly event is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the Library's Learning Commons in Wilson Library 283 (next to the Tutoring Center).

Second, faculty members who have taught a GUR should consider attending and/or bringing a teaching tip or practice to share. Those who are unable to attend and have something to share may send a write-up (one paragraph or less) to shevell.thibou@wwu.edu with the subject line Viking Landing.

This event is co-sponsored by the Committee on Undergraduate Education, the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, the Academic Advising Center and the Learning Commons.
