Faculty can learn about Greek literature's connection to the present at mini course today

Western Washington University faculty members can join their colleagues from across campus in learning about classical Greek literature’s connection to the present and getting a glimpse into Diane Johnson’s Modern and Classical Languages GUR course in part two of Johnson's Faculty GUR group mini course today.

Johnson will present "Assessing the Other: The Battles of Salamis and Lake Trasimene" from 4 to 5 p.m. today, Nov. 4, in Bond Hall Room 110.

Do we learn from the past? And can history – not the past itself, but the interpretation of the past as we read about it in Classical literature – teach us to understand our own choices and to make intelligent decisions? Discover what a study of the past, and the way people in the past viewed events, can teach us about leadership and decision making today. All faculty are invited to attend.
