Expert on sustainable transportation to speak at WWU April 30

Students, Staff, Faculty, transportation professionals and community members are invited to join the WWU Sustainable Transportation Office and Western Sustainability for a presentation and discussion with Marc Schlossberg, associate director of the National Institute for Transportation & Communities and co-director of the Sustainable Cities Initiative, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, in Viking Union Room 567.

Schlossberg will  provide examples from his latest book, "Rethinking Streets." He'll also discuss transportation policies, action-based research practices and facilities transformation as they could be applied to WWU and the surrounding community.

An associate professor of Planning, Public Policy and Management at the University of Oregon, Schlossberg also leads a summer study abroad course on sustainable bicycle transportation in Denmark and the Netherlands.
