‘Essential Movements: Artists & Athletes’ Exhibition to Run May 14 to June 11 at WWU

Western Washington University student artists and athletes will host an exhibition titled “Essential Movements: Artists & Athletes” from May 14 to June 11 in the Carver Gym landing exhibition space.

The event, which is free and open to the public, includes 40-by-60-inch prints by students in Western Photography Art classes who worked directly with WWU athletes to facilitate strategies surrounding working with and photographing groups of models in motion.

Goals of the project were to learn DSLR camera functions and incorporate elements of movement and motion while working outdoors to embrace nature as a backdrop, using WWU athletes to create a framework for the images.
