Earth Ride April 22 to visit environmentally significant areas of Bellingham

As part of the Earth Week events at Western Washington University, a special Earth Ride will take place at 4:30 p.m. April 22, starting in Red Square.

The Associated Students Environmental Center will be giving an educational bicycle tour of Bellingham, stopping at environmentally significant stops. They will be reflecting on the past (think waterfront, pipeline explosion) and pointing out how exciting the future is (think community gardens, co-ops, upcycling businesses).

The bike ride will be at a leisurely pace and finish with a free feast and snacks with help from Students for Sustainable Food at Boulevard Park. Participants encourages to dress festively. Those who don't have a bike may rent one for $4 to $8 from the WWU Outdoor Center at the bottom of the Viking Union.
