Design students bag big-name internships

To fulfill requirements of the BFA Design Program, twelve undergraduate students from the Western Design Department completed internships during the 2015 summer quarter.

After a spring portfolio review, the students interviewed for placement at professional design firms in the Northwest, including Bellingham, Edmonds, Seattle and Portland. Firms participating in the paid internship program include Cinco, Disney, Fell Swoop, Live Area Labs, Push Design, Starbucks, Smashing Ideas, Studio SC, Ten Gun, Tether, Toolhouse and Turnstyle.

All students had a successful summer with insight into the expectations and pace of the industry. The design interns exceeded the expectations of the firms with many authoring works that will appear in stores and online this fall.
