Deadline is Aug. 6 for nominations for pro staff excellence award

The purpose of the Professional Staff Organization Award for Excellence is to recognize one professional staff employee annually for an assortment of exceptional efforts and contributions to Western Washington University. The award is presented annually at Fall Convocation.

This award honors professional staff employees who demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:

  • Exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in the performance of her/his job duties to the benefit of faculty, staff and students.
  • Exceptional level of integrity, professionalism and job performance that inspires excellence in others and contributes to Western's mission and values.
  • Exhibits and encourages excellence in initiative, creativity and willingness to explore new ideas through work and interaction with others.

Nomination Process:

Any university faculty or staff member may nominate an eligible professional staff member. To be eligible for a nomination, the professional staff member must hold a 50-percent or greater permanent appointment and will have been employed at Western for a minimum of one year by the nomination due date.

All nominations must be submitted via the on-line nomination form by 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 6, and will be reviewed and selected by the PSO Award Committee.
